IT'S ALL IN THE MIND! 1 MINUTE HEADACHE CURE MOST headaches are your subconscious mind telling you that you are stressed in some way. So why can't you just tell yourself to switch it off? Because your mind doesn't work that way. Your subconscious thinks in metaphor, so the language you need to use is not your everyday chat. Try the Map and Push technique next time you get a headache. MAP the pain; (it can be more effective if you get someone else to ask you these questions)
The more detail you can go into, the better. It leaves your subconscious in no doubt about what you are concerned with. Describing it makes it real to the subconscious. Any detail that you are not sure of, such as colour, make one up. Now Push it away;
Now start again; map the pain if it is still there. Most headaches go at the first attempt. Some will need 2 or 3. If it doesn't dissipate after the third try, take it to a doctor. Obviously, if you are on a bus or train, you might not want to put your arms in the air! This is a hypnotic method, so it is OK if you just imagine doing it. But you must put some effort in - even if you imagine the actions, make your shoulder muscles actually stretch; feel that push.
